Ramadan Distributions Underway
22 May 2018The past two weeks have seen multiple distributions and Ramadan programmes conducted by our network of teams and partners across the world. Needy Syrian and Palestinian refugees, struggling communities in Africa, impoverished Asians and South East Asians, refugees stranded in Greece and some of the poorest communities in the European Balkans are benefitting from our Ramadan hampers. In addition to the distribution of hampers, our offices in Jordan and Kenya have also arranged special iftaar feeding programmes and our latest established office in the DRC took the opportunity in Ramadan to deliver aid to victims of recent flooding in Uvira in South Kivu, DRC.
Through all these efforts we have been endeavouring to love for our struggling brothers what we love for ourselves.
HELP US SUSTAIN THESE EFFORTS AND LET’S CONTINUE LOVING FOR OTHERS WHAT WE LOVE FOR OURSELVES
The Holy Prophet (PBUH) told us that the test of our faith was whether we loved for others what we love for ourselves. In a world of consumerism, where we chase after every fleeting luxury, Ramadan gives us a moment to think about those who do not even have the means to eat the next meal. Ramadan encourages us to reconsider our lives of luxury and to realise that our privileges are a test. Each Ramadan, the Al-Imdaad Foundation provides the opportunity for us to reach out to others and to show them that just as we love to break our fasts with sumptuous meals, we also love for them to break their fasts with a wholesome meal. This year, our Ramadan food hampers will be delivered to families in over 25 countries to show that we love and care about them too.
