Al-Imdaad kicks off Operation Winter Warmth in October 2014
24 Oct 2014This year the Al-Imdaad Foundation Started its Winter Warmth operation early in the season to help prepare the displaced Syrian people for the coming winter months.
As of the 25th of October a convoy of trucks laden with winter supplies including clothes, blankets and other essentials was on the way to Syria.
Winter is a harsh reality for the millions of refugees and internally displaced persons who are victims of the Syrian conflict. Many of these individuals live in tents and broken down buildings that offer little protection against the severe winters that have struck the region over the past few years. Many young children suffer as a result of these conditions and are in desperate need of warm clothes, blankets, heaters as well as food and other essential to sustain them through this period. Recently flooding has been a problem in low lying refugee camps causing blankets clothes and belongings to be soaked through. The cold is such that many cannot even sleep and must watch their children shiver without being able to do anything to keep them warm.
